Managed by APT since 1981, Stratford Commons consists of 159 units designed for senior citizen housing assisted through the Federal Section 8 Program. The Section 8 contract is administered by the Elkhart Housing Authority. The Resident’s Council at Stratford Commons is quite active and holds monthly meetings. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority attends meetings semi-annually. Management sponsors monthly safety meetings and hosts quarterly meetings with local officials to create a sense of community between the residents and the City.
